The Foo Fighters will soon release their first album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, as announced by their record label.
The upcoming album, titled But Here We Are, is due for release on June 2 – more than a year after Hawkins died tragically and untimely at the age of 50 while the band was on tour.
According to the press release, the band’s eleventh studio album is “a raw, emotionally honest response to everything the Foo Fighters have endured over the past year”.
Earlier last week, the rock band showcased new music with a cryptic message shared by frontman Dave Grohl along with a 13-second trailer of a previously unheard track.
Their first single from the album – titled Rescued – has already been dropped and is available to listen to now.

They also stated that Rescued is “the first of 10 songs that navigate the emotional gamut from anger and sadness to serenity and acceptance, and the myriad points in between”.

At the end of March 2022, Hawkins was found unresponsive at a hotel in Bogota, Colombia.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and officials later revealed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
The Foo Fighters—which consisted of drummers alongside Dave Grohl, Nate Mindell, Pat Smyr, Chris Shiflett, and Ramy Jaffe at the time—were in town for a festival as the band kicked off the South American leg of their tour.
