In May 2010, Juri & # 39; Julie & # 39; Kibuishi, a 23-year-old student and dancer, found dead in her friend's apartment, Sam Herr.
According to the authorities, the gentleman, 26, had raped and killed Kibuishi before traveling.
Shortly thereafter, however, they discovered that the true murderer was in fact the friend and neighbor of the Lord, Daniel Wozniak, 35.
Wozniak later confessed to the police that he had killed the lord to steal his money and then he had killed Kibuishi so that he could bribe the lord and fool the police.
His confession, along with new details about the case, form the centerpiece of a new 20/20 documentary that will be broadcast on ABC on Friday 31 May.

According to prosecutors, Wozniak murdered Herr in a theater at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base in May 2010.
Herr was shot twice in the head and Wozniak grabbed his ATM card, wallet, and cell phone.
It is believed that after the murder, Herr's cell phone was used to text Kibuishi, who was the friend and fellow student of the university.
According to Kibushi's brother, Taka Kibuishi, the text messages indicated that Herr & # 39; family problems & # 39; and that he only needed the shoulder of a girl to cry & # 39 ;.
When Kibuishi arrived at Herr's apartment, Wozniak reportedly shot her in the head twice and removed part of her clothing to show that Herr had sexually assaulted her before she fled.
Herr's father found her body the next day.
Eventually Wozniak confessed to the police that he had killed both Herr and Kibuishi, and framed the Herr so that it looked like he was killing the young woman. Pictured: Wozniak under interrogation
Prosecutors argued that Wozniak (left) had killed the lord to steal the $ 60,000 he had made while serving in Afghanistan. The money is said to have been paid for Wozniak & # 39; s wedding with Rachel Buffett (right) and their honeymoon
The following night, Wozniak played the lead role in a musical in the same theater where he killed the gentleman.
According to the 20/20 documentary, the police started a broad manhunt on the gentleman, but were unable to follow him.
When they checked the activity on his ATM card, they discovered that a 17-year-old named Wesley Freilich had withdrawn money from the bill.
The police confronted Freilich, who told them that Wozniak had given him the card and asked him to withdraw money for him.
Days later, Wozniak was arrested. He finally confessed to the double murder and revealed that he had cut off Herr's head and the heads of both victims before they laid down their bodies.
Wozniak (right) was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. His fiancé, Buffett (left), was found guilty of an accessory after the fact and was sentenced to 44 months in prison

Prosecutors claimed that it was all part of a plot to steal money to pay for his wedding and honeymoon.
He pleaded not guilty, but in December 2015 he was found guilty of two points of the first-degree murder.
Orange County Superior Court Judge John Conley followed the recommendation of a jury and sentenced Wozniak to death.
Wozniak's fiancé, Rachel Buffett, was later found guilty of accessory and was sentenced to 44 months in prison.
