Shocking new details have emerged about a horrific accident at a primary school in south-west Sydney on Wednesday afternoon in which 10 children were injured.
Several students and one adult were injured after lighting equipment fell on them while the school was holding an end-of-term performance at Barramurra Public School in Oran Park.
Several ambulances were dispatched to the school around midday yesterday as staff urgently called parents.
Millie, an eight-year-old pupil at the school, told reporters she was performing on stage when she “suddenly heard a big bang”.
“It just fell down… because someone moved it and hit it,” he said. 7News.
“I looked back and all my friends were looking at me because I was scared,” she said. “We were so close and I was crying because of it.”
‘I got scared because I thought my friends were nearby and my friend would get hurt because of how big (the light) is.’
She added that she was ‘scared, because… when my friend came down they saw the ambulances and said ‘I’m really scared right now.’

“The teachers just told us to get out quickly and go up (to our classrooms).”
His mother, who did not want to reveal her name, told the The Telegraph newspaper who arrived at the school around noon on Wednesday to watch Millie’s performance and saw that there were several ambulances parked outside.
“I didn’t know anything until I got here,” he said. “Nobody was notified. Nobody knew anything about it.”
A boy named Kayden said: “We were doing an exhibition and suddenly a light fell on a child and a couple of people were injured.”
“A girl was seriously injured. She was bleeding, but she is fine,” he said.
Veronica, a grandmother who had flown in to see her granddaughter perform at school, said the situation was “scary”.
‘The first thing you think is ‘How is my grandson?’
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said they were called to the school at around 12pm, while video showed at least one child being taken away on a stretcher.
“Paramedics treated a number of patients at the scene, most of whom were children, and also one adult,” he told Daily Mail Australia.
‘They received treatment for minor injuries, one child was taken to Campbelltown Hospital and two others were taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital.
“They are all stable with minor injuries.”
On Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson for the NSW Department of Education said: “All children were discharged from hospital on Wednesday evening.”
He added that “the investigation into what happened is ongoing and SafeWork continues to investigate the incident.”
The performances planned at the school have been cancelled.
