Among the main targets are Matthijs de Ligt, Jules Kounde and Raheem Sterling, with Jonathan Clauss, Ousmane Dembele, Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus also mentioned.
The report indicates that Tuchel has been holding transfer caps with the new owner as the Blues pursue success in the 2022-23 campaign.
A source told The Telegraph“The key is to basically work with Tuchel to find the best players available. We really want to make sure we have a good defense.
“We have depth in midfield. We’re not desperate for a seasoned striker.
“Fortunately, there are reasonable opportunities in the market right now to satisfy the fans’ desire to be competitive. I think it’s a combination of moves and there’s five or six that we’re going to try to make.”
According to reports from Italy, Juventus De Ligt’s central defender will not sign a new contract with the club, with the Blues interested in a big-money transfer for the Dutchman.
Sevilla defender Kounde has long been a target of Chelsea and could move to West London, while France international Jonathan Clauss is an option as a right-back.
Further down the pitch, Raheem Sterling’s future at Manchester City is currently unclear – with Chelsea leading the pack of interested teams – while Everton forward Richarlison has been linked with a move at Goodison Park.
Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele – with whom Tuchel worked at Borussia Dortmund – is reportedly considering his options, while Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus has also been linked with a departure in light of Erling Haaland’s transfer to the Premier League champions.
The Telegraph source added: “I think table betting is Champions League qualifiers and everything beyond that.
“From the point of view of the English fans, winning the Premier League is extremely important, and from a global perspective, winning the Champions League is extremely important. Being in a position to be competitive year after year.”
Meanwhile, Boehly has installed himself as the club’s interim sporting director after they confirmed Marina Granovskaia’s departure.
The Blues have announced that Granovskaia, who oversaw Chelsea’s hiring under former owner Roman Abramovich, will follow ex-chairman Bruce Buck on leaving the Stamford Bridge club as part of the restructuring of their hierarchy.
