Actor and podcaster Michael Rapaport has revealed a personal war of words with Kevin Durant in which the Brooklyn Nets star appears to have used a series of homophobic insults while threatening to spit on the diehard 51-year-old New York sports fan.

“I heard it all before uc ***,” read one of Durant’s direct Instagram posts to Rapaport. ‘I swear I’ll spit in your face when I see your dirty ass.

‘Meet me at 10 a.m. on W 17 tomorrow. Or better yet. What is your address?’

“All you have to do is suck other men for attention.”

“Your wife doesn’t even respect your b **** a **.”

Durant apologized after Rapaport revealed the rant in a series of screen grabbing on Twitter, although in another tweet the former NBA MVP seemed to dismiss the exchange as friendly banter: “ Me and Mike are talking CRAZY than this on the normal and today he is pissed off. … My damn bad microphone !! ‘

Rapaport did not accept the apology, writing on Twitter that Durant crossed a line by naming his wife: “Never threaten me or talk about my wife P ****.”

Durant then wrote: ‘Wow are you acting like brand new now ?? We’ve been talking like that for years and you’re getting serious today. Wow. Smhhh. ‘

The 32-year-old forward and two-time NBA champion could be subject to NBA discipline. Other players, such as Rajon Rondo and the late Kobe Bryant, have been fined for using homophobic insults on the field. However, Durant’s exchange was a private conversation.

An NBA spokesperson did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

The conversation was revealed by Rapaport in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon.

“ I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that (Kevin Durant) would be there, ” Rapaport tweeted joking about his exchange with Durant. ‘The [snake emoji] he himself now threatens me, raises my wife and wants to fight. This should be America’s darling, right? ‘

Although he apologized, Durant also seemed to dismiss the exchange as mere friendly banter

Judging by the screenshots, the exchange appears to have started in December after Durant had an awkward post-game interview with TNT analyst and former NBA star Charles Barkley.

“ KD seemed deep in his feelings with the (TNT) crew after the game, ” Rapaport tweeted at the time. ‘DAMNIT, he’s super sensitive to everything. Don’t do the interview. ‘

In a private message, Durant, or someone using his account, responded with a grab of Rapaport’s tweet and a few choice words for the actor, such as’ b **** ‘,’ p **** ‘and’ piece of s ** *. ‘

Rapaport told Durant to “help kids in Brownsville, Brooklyn and stop being Puzzles.”

Durant also poked fun at Rapaport's defamation lawsuit against Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, which was recently dismissed. Rapaport had filed a lawsuit over a t-shirt that Portnoy had sold, which depicted the actor with a clown nose and a clear case of herpes. The judge threw the suit on Tuesday, saying that a `` reasonable audience '' would not assume that the red spot that adorns Rapaport's mouth on the T-shirt could be interpreted as the actor does indeed have herpes.

“You called your attorney as you are,” Durant wrote. ‘You couldn’t stop Portnoy from talking?

P **** wants lawyer.
