A new Netflix miniseries has been criticized by angry viewers for its “terrible” ending.

Man in Full, adapted from Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel, launched as a six-part limited series on the streaming giant on May 2.

The Regina King-directed series follows banker Raymond Peepgrass (Tom Pelphrey) as he attempts to expose Atlanta business magnate Charlie Croker (Jeff Daniels) and his massive $800 million debt.

The intricate narrative includes several subplots, including the imprisonment of Conrad Hensley, husband of Charlie Croker’s assistant Jill Hensley (Chanté Adams), after retaliating against the assault of a police officer.

The show also contains a story featuring Lucy Liu as a wealthy business owner who decides to speak out about a sexual assault that occurred two decades ago.

While many viewers commented on the confusing nature of the many subplots, it was the show’s ending that seemed to disappoint fans the most.

The series, currently ranked third on Netflix’s global Top 10 list, concludes with Raymond seducing Croker’s ex-wife Martha (Diane Lane), taking advantage of his business actions to forge an alliance against Croker.

The finale sees Croker and Peepgrass in a tense face-to-face encounter, ending with a graphic and fatal confrontation that is abruptly cut short, leaving viewers hanging.

With viewers divided on the series finale, fans took to X to share their thoughts on the “lazy” and “terrible” finale.

One fan wrote: ‘After watching A Man in its entirety… I feel a little robbed by the ending. It’s a Netflix limited series so there probably won’t be a second season. “I hate when these creators make shows like this.”

Another fumed: “Just watched a man in full, good show, terrible ending, I’m p****8.”

A third wrote: “I watched A Man in its entirety and it was good, but the ending is terrible,” while a fourth disappointed viewer added: “I understand why A Man in its entirety has low ratings, because that ending is so pointless.” .

Another viewer said: “I’ve just finished A Man in Full on Netflix, which was a fantastic series, beautifully written and directed.” However, what the hell was that ending?

One final fan wrote: ‘I just binged Netflix’s Man in Full.’ Five incredible episodes followed by an incredibly weak ending.’

They added: ‘Wow, how are we going to solve all these complicated stories we’ve created?’

However, one delighted fan praised the show’s ‘cinematic’ ending, writing: ‘A Man in Full, directed by Regina King, is absolute cinema! Perfection and incredible ending!’

It comes after Netflix was heavily criticized earlier this month by MPs and school activists after viewers were confronted with a fully erect penis on the show.

It is believed to be the first time a mainstream British television drama has broken the ‘erect penis’ taboo, and there was no prior warning about graphic nudity.
