Netflix viewers have marveled at a new classic film noir series, calling it a “masterpiece” and “work of art.”
Directed by Academy Award winner Steven Zaillian, Ripley begins when small-time criminal Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott) is greeted by a wealthy Herbert Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), who mistakes him for a friend of his son. Dickie.
Herbert offers the conman a free ticket out of 1960s New York and hires him to venture to Italy in an attempt to bring his spoiled son home.
Tom thinks the job will be an easy paycheck, but little does he know it’s the first step in a slow descent into a complex life of lies, fraud, and murder.

Netflix fans were mesmerized by the gripping series, with some describing it as a “work of art”.
