Netflix fans have gone wild over a “must-watch” drama that they say is a “brilliant” experience.
On the Facebook group Netflix Bangers, which has more than three million members, viewers were quick to praise a series that featured “a lot of adult scenes.”
Fans were referring to Banshee, which ran for four seasons from 2013 to 2016, and tells the story of a convicted felon who assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff in the town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he has unfinished business.
The series’ main character is played by Antony Starr, and assumes the identity of Sheriff Lucas Hood in order to hide from the powerful crime lord Rabbit, played by Ben Cross.
Imposing his own justice, Hood attempts to reconcile with his former lover, Rabbit’s daughter Anastasia (Ivana Milicevic), who started a new life, getting married and raising a family during Hood’s time in prison.

Hood struggles to maintain his new identity as he turns to crime alongside his partners Job (Hoon Lee) and Sugar (Frankie Faison), while coming into conflict with local boss Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen).
The first season focuses on Hood’s attempts to reestablish his relationship with Carrie under the looming threat of Rabbit finding them.
Hood illustrates a complete disregard for the law by confronting Proctor and pursuing his own criminal activities, alienating his own deputies.
Eventually, Rabbit tracks him down and Hood turns himself in to save Carrie, who then springs a surprise by leading criminal accomplices and agents on a raid to free Hood and shoot Rabbit.
Fans have praised the cult show for its gripping scenes and enthralling narratives.
They enthused: ‘The brutality in this series is unreal in certain scenes… this series is addictive.’
