The streaming giant announced Tuesday that the second oldest sibling in the show’s central family will be the focus of the next installment.
The perpetual bachelor is played by 36-year-old actor Luke Thompson and has so far been a much-loved but supporting character.
Despite his older and younger brothers, Anthony and Colin, being happily married, Benedict is reluctant to settle down in season four.
That is until he meets a captivating Silver Lady at his mother’s masquerade ball, Netflix has revealed.

The fourth season will consist of eight episodes and filming will take place in London under the watchful eye of showrunner Jess Brownell and executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
Luke said: “Benedict has always been a bit lost, or free, depending on how you want to look at it. But now he’s trying to find something a bit more solid within himself.”
Shonda added: “He’s a lovely man who’s trying to find his way. He’s very personable and funny. I’m excited for everyone to see it.”
Netflix also released a short video when the announcement of Luke accepting Benedict’s prominent future was shared.
She is shown opening a door and receiving a costume to wear to a masquerade ball, a hint as to where her journey will begin in the series.
The third season, which aired earlier this year, focused on the love story between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
This comes after Kelly Valentine Henry, the casting director of the edgy period drama, revealed that she had been overloaded with X-rated audition tapes during an episode of Should I delete that? podcast.
“I get the most amazing, unsolicited videos every day,” he explained.
“It’s basically sex, it’s not real sex, but it’s pretty intense,” she continued. “They’re not nude photos, but they’re not far from that.”

Henry, who has been with the hit Netflix series since its inception, revealed that his inbox is constantly flooded with hopefuls vying for their chance at stardom on the popular show.

As they continued their search, Henry noticed strong interest in the coveted position, with one applicant standing out by sending in a huge, sturdy plastic banner of herself in a Regency-style costume.
“It’s a bit sad, really, I don’t understand it,” he added.
Casting director reveals season 3 included Bridgerton’s most daring episode yet.
After being promised the “most gripping season yet,” Bridgerton fans were left somewhat disappointed by the lack of Regency scenes in the first part of season three.
However, the show’s directors have more than delivered with the second part of this period drama, with the fifth episode of the series featuring a six-minute-long sex scene between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Nicola previously revealed: ‘I think we’ve won the cheekiness of this series!’ as she joked that she and Luke had damaged the set with their on-screen games.
Narration Entertainment Weekly:We broke a piece of furniture while we were doing a scene. It’s a bit like a stunt where they say, ‘Okay, we’re going to do this, this and this.’
“But then they gave us freedom and we could decide how we did those scenes and what we wanted to do. That makes you feel very empowered.”
“We felt great. They actually had a great time. I didn’t think they would do it. It was fun.”

Meanwhile, some fans are already looking forward to the fourth season and are criticizing a Netflix executive after she revealed that this will be the last Bridgerton action for two long years.
Showrunner Jess Brownell admitted The Hollywood Reporter There will be a long wait before viewers get to see how another Bridgerton sibling’s story unfolds.
She said: ‘We’re working on trying to get the seasons out faster, but they take eight months to film and then they have to be edited and then they have to be dubbed into all the languages.
“And writing it takes a long time, too, so we’re going at a two-year pace; we’re trying to speed it up, but somewhere in that range.”
