Emily Estefan looked like a carbon copy of her iconic mother Gloria Estefan, as she celebrated her eighth anniversary with her partner Gemeny Hernandez.
Nepo baby, 29, whose father is Cuban-American musician Emilio Estefan, 71, shared a touching tribute to his girlfriend via Instagram on Monday, posting a trio of loving snaps, including one of them kissing.
‘Love is growing. Love is watching the pigment in your hair fade, the wrinkles form on your face, the softness of your voice amplify. Almost 8 years beautiful. I love you,” he wrote in the caption.
The other two photos showed Emily, who previously said her mother, 67, asked her not to talk to her grandmother, and Gemeny curled up and looking at the camera.
They both matched with black shirts and wore their dark tresses in braids.
Gemeny commented on the post and wrote: ‘You are my testimony of love. My proof of love. My growing scope thinking hurts loving learning to live love. As I told you this morning, I would do it again and again. ’

Emily’s fans were quick to applaud the romantic gesture, with this year’s Miss Cuba, Marianela Ancheta, writing: “You guys are amazing!”
The couple often shares photos of each other and attend events together. They were recently seen attending the 25th Latin GRAMMY Awards, held at the Kaseya Center on November 14 in Miami, Florida.
The couple proudly held hands as they posed for photographers.
They also attended the Latin Recording Academy’s 2024 Person of the Year event Honoring Carlos Vives on November 13.
The duo also launched their own podcast, In Our Own World, in 2022.
Emily previously admitted that she felt “hurt” when her mother told her not to tell her grandmother, and opened up about her pain during an episode of Red table talk: The Estefans, in 2020.
After Emily first told the eight-time Grammy winner that she was in love with another woman in 2017, her superstar mother forbade her from talking about her sexuality with her grandmother, Gloria Fajardo, for fear the news would affect her already fragile health.
“I thought, ‘Hey, I’m in love with this girl.'” The first thing you said was, “If you tell your grandmother and she dies, her blood will be on your hands,” Gloria’s youngest son said.
Emily, who is also a musician, was devastated by the dramatic response as it made her feel like her coming out was being rejected.
“I just wasn’t prepared for it,” she explained. ‘Because I understand that my grandmother was older, but she made me feel like, whatever it is, it’s okay, hide it. So that’s where my pain started.’
“I’ll never forget that,” Emily, who has been in a relationship with Gemeny since 2017, continued.

Now he realized that the conguera ‘came from (a place of) love, of protection’, hoping not to surprise Grandma Fajardo because she was already sick.
Farjardo, who also had a strained relationship with Estefan, died at the age of 88 in June 2017.
Gloria tried to explain her place, admitting that she was in a difficult situation, worried that Emily’s departure could affect Fajardo’s already deteriorating health.
“You’re remembering things, as we all tend to do, in a different way,” he reflected.
“I was trying to protect my sick mother from any shock that could affect her health and Emily from anything that could damage their relationship,” Gloria said, describing her own mother as “controlling and stubborn.”
Now Estefan admits that she regrets never giving Emily the chance to open up to her grandmother.
In the chat, Gloria also admitted that she had “no idea” that Emily was a lesbian, but “she suspected it at times,” recalling a moment when Emily asked her parents if they thought she was “gay.”
“I was testing the waters,” Emily admitted.

Emily later said that never being willing to share her sexuality with Fajardo is one of her “biggest unanswered questions” while speaking with Entertainment Weekly.
“My grandmother and I were very close, but I’m really not sure,” she told the magazine.
‘But that’s also part of life: you don’t get all the answers you want. I’m also learning that regrets are a waste of time.’
Her parents Gloria and Emilio have been married since 1978. In addition to Emily, the power couple also shares their son Nayib, 44.
Gloria is one of the most successful Latin music artists of all time and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
