A woman has revealed she is at the end of her rope following yet another incident with her next-door neighbours.
The anonymous woman went to a British parenting site Mamannet to explain that she and her partner had been constantly harassed by a married couple – and claims that she had even caught them spying on her on one occasion.
The woman claims police had previously discovered “illegal” cameras on their neighbor’s property and, more recently, the couple next door had the garden fence lowered and a “transparent” panel added.
The woman said the new fence made her feel “naked” and exposed in her garden – and she has a sneaking suspicion the heterosexual couple are particularly interested in her and her partner because they are a same-sex couple.
According to the anonymous poster, her partner approached neighbors to voice concerns about the fence, the woman “laughed in his face” and said she and her husband didn’t care. Confused about this, the poster sought advice from other Mumsnet users, who branded the neighbors “scary and vile”.
The woman took to UK parenting site Mumsnet to reveal her neighbors had installed a ‘shorter’ one meter fence with a ‘transparent panel’ (Picture: Archive image capturing feuding neighbors)
She explained: “We are at the end of the terrace and are responsible for the fence to our left. I’m having problems with the neighbor on the right.
“A bit of history: we started out okay, but then we caught them spying on us (we’re a female couple and I guess they find us interesting or obnoxious).
“The police intervened and arrested them with illegally installed cameras. There was also evidence that they followed us on the street, took photos and published them on channels (these photos eventually reached us).
The warring neighbors kept their distance from each other for a total of three years and only rekindled the banter after meeting at the funeral of a mutual friend.
And although relations between the two couples were friendly at first, the new fence turned them into “enemies” once again.
She continued: “A few days ago a neighbor came up and said he was having the fence between us changed.
“It is indeed an old fence which risks collapsing this winter. We asked him how high the new fence would be. He replied “as high as the old one”.
“Today their fence worker came with the fence panels and not only are they much shorter, but they also have a ‘see through’ top.

She said the revised fence made her feel “naked” and was further evidence that neighbors had a “very keen interest” in the “wife and wife” couple.
“We went from a two-meter blanket to a one-meter blanket and we feel naked, especially since these are unpleasant and conflicting people who are very interested in us.
“My partner went to talk to them and the woman just laughed in his face and said ‘haha, who cares, it doesn’t matter what we say’.
“So we are enemies again.”
The poster sought advice on their position after their neighbors reneged on a “verbal” promise to install a two-metre fence.
Many people seemed baffled by the story, while some encouraged the woman to be petty with the pesky neighbors.
One person advised: “I would leave ivy on it, it would be ruined in a year.”
Sorry about the poster, another added: “I’m so sorry you have such creepy and vile neighbors.”

Many people seemed baffled by the story, while some encouraged the woman to be petty with the pesky neighbors.
Someone else said: “Out of pettiness I would look at how much it would cost to get a Harris fence with a tattered blue tarp. Then put it off for as long as you can tolerate it. Their fence will look beautiful with this behind it.
Another person said: “You legally can’t do anything to their fence (pending the fence rules in your deeds), but you can put your own fence on your side.” »
Meanwhile, someone else shared their own personal experience with “bad” neighbors: “I have huge problems with my neighbors too. Something similar happened with me and I installed a 6 foot bamboo screen. I got the bamboo mosquito net and folded it in half so it was double the thickness.
“It meant we couldn’t see each other at all for a long time. It brought me a level of peace that I didn’t know existed. But unfortunately, after a few years the wind broke a particularly bad winter.
“It was different for me because I had paid for the fence, so I didn’t have to bother drilling into it to secure the bamboo. I don’t know if you would be able to do that? Having bad neighbors is the worst.
