Neighbors legend Ryan Moloney shocked fans by confirming he is leaving the soap after three decades.
The Australian actor, 44, announced that he and his beloved character Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi will be saying goodbye to the long-running drama series.
She shared the devastating news with her fans in a video shared on Neighbors’ Instagram page as she detailed her next steps in her career.
Ryan remained evasive about what will happen to Toadie and whether or not the beloved character will meet a terrible end, leaving fans in suspense.
He announced: “After 30 years playing Toadie, I will be leaving Ramsay Street. I can’t tell you what’s happening to the character; Maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson.
“Or maybe I’ll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping up over the years.”
Ryan said he won’t be walking away from television entirely and will continue to work behind the camera after recently completing a director’s training course.
“While I won’t show you our fantastic stories in front of the camera, I will show you from the other side, behind the camera,” he continued.

‘I’ve just started training as a director and just finished filming my first episode as a director, so I really hope you enjoy it.
He concluded: ‘Thank you all for the love you have shown me and Toadie over the years. I’m going to miss you, I’m going to miss him and I’m going to miss Erinsborough.
Neighbors executive producer Jason Herbison insisted that Ramsay Street “won’t be the same” without Ryan’s beloved presence and announced that it won’t be the end for Toadie.
“The street will not be the same without seeing it every week, however, there is a good chance it will appear again in the future,” he told Herald of the sun.

“In the meantime, we’re delighted to support his directorial ambitions and can’t wait for viewers to see Toadie’s season-long story unfold.

His shock exit comes a year after Neighbors returned to screens on Amazon Freevee, shortly after the show was canceled and the finale aired on Network 10 in July 2022.
Ryan has become one of the most recognizable faces of Neighbors since he first appeared on Ramsay Street as Toadie in 1995.
Ryan appeared on Ramsay Street as Toadie in 1995, and accidentally threw his new girlfriend Dee Bliss (Madeleine West) off a cliff in a shocking and tragic turn.
He has been at the center of a number of dramatic and heartbreaking stories, including his tragic love story with Dee Bliss (Madeleine West).
Dee became a fan favourite and married Toadie in a romantic ceremony, but accidentally threw the couple off a cliff after their nuptials.
In a tragic twist, Dee was left for dead and her body was never found, but she returned to the soap in a guest role 16 years later in a shocking survival twist.
Her estranged twin Andrea Somers, also played by Madeleine, returned for the first time and claimed to be Dee to scam Toadie, and the couple welcomed a son, Hugo, together.
In more recent years, Toadie married her personal assistant Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) before realizing that being a stepmother wasn’t for her in a devastating move.
It was later revealed that gangs from Andrea’s past had driven Toadie and Dee’s car off a cliff, hoping to kill her, and Dee then went into hiding to stay safe, before the truth was finally revealed years later.
Toadie had a second love affair with Sonya (Eve Morey) and the couple welcomed their daughter Nell.
But Sonya tragically died in a heartbreaking story in 2019 after losing her battle with ovarian cancer.
In 2022, Toadie married her personal assistant Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) before realizing that being a stepmother was not for her.
