She shared a message on Instagram on Tuesday, saying that she recently volunteered at the food bank at the Asylum Seeker Resource Center in Melbourne.

“Refugees and asylum seekers were brought in only two at a time from a row that would take hours to choose from two weeks of goods left to feed more than 300 desperate families,” Madeleine wrote.

“This is coronavirus and it hits the stateless people the hardest, those who are now staring at the very real possibility of eating absolutely NO food for the next few months,” she wrote.

“Not Medicare. No income, no access to suitable housing, up to 700 daily visits to this site for some meager shopping. ‘
