MANILA, Philippines – Emilio Aguinaldo College ended Lyceum’s six-game winning streak, 83-76, in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament at the San Juan Arena on Wednesday.
The Generals, who improved to 3-2, may have regained their winning ways by beating the league’s top team, but coach Jerson Cabiltes isn’t putting much emphasis on the win.
“I’m not here to break records, winning streaks or anything. I’m only looking at one streak, which is making it to the Final Four. I hope they will work hard to get there,” Cabiltes said.
King Gurtiza helped EAC’s cause with 18 points and eight rebounds. Nat Cosejo also had 14 markers and seven boards, while Ralph Robin scored 13 in the win.
JM Bravo led the Pirates with 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss that left the team at 6-1. Mclaude Guadaña and Enoch Valdez also had 13 and 12 markers respectively.
