Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, is leaving the company after an investigation into misconduct involving an “improper relationship.”
Comcast and Shell jointly announced the news Sunday in a statement noting that the two have “come in mutual agreement” on the decision. Shell is leaving immediately. The decision follows a company-led investigation by outside counsel “into a complaint of inappropriate conduct”.
“Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret,” Shell said in its own statement. people in the industry and the opportunity to work with them over the past 19 years has been a privilege.”
The media executive has led the company since assuming the role of CEO on January 1, 2020.
