Zion Williamson recently announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting a child, and it’s possible there’s another big life change coming this summer for the former No. 1 overall pick.
The Pelicans, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, want to draft Scoot Henderson but are ill-placed to do so at the minute with the 14th pick. Henderson is expected to go no later than No. 3 overall.
It means what would once have seemed unthinkable – making Williamson available – could be on the table in order to get Henderson.
‘We told me [The Pelicans] go after Scoot Henderson… Do the Pelicans look internally tough to move Zion Williamson? ” Charania asked on FanDuel TV ”Run it back.’
Already a double All-Star with a career average of 25.8 points per game, Williamson absolutely showed why the Pelicans — and the rest of the league — considered him a generational talent coming out of Duke in 2019.

Zion Williamson has become the talking point of Twitter and the NBA world since the pregnancy and subsequent allegations advanced by porn star Moriah Mills
But the murderous striker could hardly stay on the pitch, as he played just 29 games last season, missed the whole of 2021-22 and only surpassed the 60-game mark once. only once in his four years as a pro so far.
Williamson’s offseason also got off to a rough start in his personal life, as he was called out by porn star Moriah Mills online after announcing that he and his girlfriend Ahkeema were expecting a girl.
Mills went on a Twitter tirade after the news became public, claiming she had slept with the Pelicans star the previous week and saying he “better pray” she wasn’t pregnant.
The adult performer also posted alleged texts between the pair later.
Amid the drama involving Williamson, his namesake foundation donated $250,000 to students enrolled at Jefferson Parish Schools in the outskirts of New Orleans, Louisiana as part of their Summer Bridge program, according to ESPN.
Williamson and her stepfather, Anderson Lee, visited the school to acknowledge the donation, and Lee gave an unexpected speech at the event.
“I mean this,” Lee said to a crowd at Jefferson Parish. “And I want to be politically correct when I say that. He’s my son and I love him.

While there has been no public indication that the Pelicans are unhappy with Williamson over the situation, the 22-year-old could still find himself on the trading block in the coming weeks.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst corroborated what Charania reported, saying the Pelicans had had “superficial discussions” about moving to Henderson, who played for G League Ignite last year.
“There haven’t necessarily been any offers made yet, but it really doesn’t make you jump too high to wonder…and the league is certainly wondering if the Pelicans are going to make Zion Williamson really available before the draft for the first time. next week,” he said on “Get Up”.
The NBA draft will take place on June 22 in New York.
