It came after Clark enjoyed a storied career with the Iowa Hawkeyes that made her one of the sport’s biggest stars.

“What I’m saying is, in men’s and women’s college basketball, she’s probably the most impressive I’ve ever seen.”

The WNBA’s worst-kept secret was finally confirmed Thursday after Clark, currently at the center of another fierce racial dispute, was named Rookie of the Year following her record-breaking debut campaign.

A day later, she posed with the award in a photo shared by the Fever, who were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Connecticut Sun last week.

Although it was not announced until Thursday, Clark found out he would win Rookie of the Year at a Fever practice before the team’s first playoff game in Connecticut last week.
