Shaquille O’Neal has once again brought out his beloved ‘DJ Diesel’ persona after taking the stage at a New Year’s Eve party in Miami.
The 52-year-old NBA great sent the crowd wild when he performed the late-night set at E11EVEN Miami with his 27-year-old son Myles.
Shaq was able to get the partygoers pumped up with some electronic and dubstep tunes in the early hours of the morning, after arriving at the venue at 2.30am and being taken to the stage half an hour later.
He kicked off with Rufus Du Sol’s ‘Innerbloom’ and got the crowd going with ‘Put up your middle Fingers, Miami!’ before Myles took over at 4:30 am.
O’Neal, whose future as a member of the hit basketball show ‘Inside The NBA’ remains unclear as of late revealed that becoming a DJ and performing at live concerts saved him after retiring from the sport.
The former LA Lakers center has had a wildly successful post-basketball career as an analyst and entrepreneur.

Shaq recently revealed that being a DJ saved him after retiring from basketball in 2011
However, it was his time behind a DJ booth that really gave him the same feeling as on the field.
“I started DJing because it gives me the same adrenaline rush as a championship match,” O’Neal told PEOPLE earlier this year.
“I was lost because I was planning to retire two years after I retired. So I wasn’t really prepared.’
O’Neal retired from the NBA in 2011 after a one-year tenure with the Boston Celtics. It wasn’t until six years later that he returned to the decks full-time after playing basketball, starting with a LaVar Ball diss track.
He was 39 when he retired from the NBA after averaging 9.2 points per game, the lowest of his dominant NBA career.
The four-time NBA champion is widely regarded as one of the best centers in NBA history and showed his best form during his stints with the Celtics.
