A man attending a dinner party with accused rapist Bruce Lehrmann has been filmed using a credit card to cut something on a plate.

The incident appears to have taken place at Mr Lehrmann’s apartment on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and was captured in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday night.

Sir. Lehrmann appears in the footage sitting at the end of a table some distance from the man with the card, laughing along with other guests.

A photo posted on Instagram by the former political operative shows him with a group of diners and a table of food.

“The family minus a couple because we don’t wait when the food is this good,” Mr Lehrmann said in a caption.

Lehrmann was accused by former colleague Brittany Higgins of raping her in Parliament House in 2019.

He faced a trial which was interrupted due to juror misconduct and has always maintained his innocence.

Sir. Lehrmann is suing journalist Lisa Wilkinson and Network 10 in federal court over her 2021 interview with Ms. Higgins on The Project.

During that interview, Mrs Higgins publicly alleged for the first time that he raped her. She did not name Mr Lehrmann, but he claims he could be identified as the alleged rapist.

Lehrmann also faces new rape charges involving a Toowoomba woman.

It is understood he intends to plead not guilty.

Sir. Lehrmann is looking for a new home as his rent-free deal with the Seven Network, which interviewed him for its Spotlight programme, ends.

His flat in the Northern Beaches had been paid for by the broadcaster in return for the interview, but it will stop paying rent on 21 April.

Sir. Lehrmann, who has not worked full-time since 2021, recently announced his intention to sue the ACT government for defamation over comments made outside court by former Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold.
