Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City announced that all patients admitted after the horrific shooting at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade on Wednesday have now been discharged.

A mother of two was killed and 22 people were wounded by gunfire Wednesday afternoon, when gunfire erupted amid a crowd of fans gathered at a rally in front of Union Station after a parade through the city.

The police said a dispute may have sparked the shooting, which occurred despite the presence of more than 800 police officers.

Police Chief Stacey Graves said Thursday that the victims ranged in age from 8 to 47, half of them under 16. Eleven children were taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital, nine of them with gunshot wounds, an official said.

All but one of the children had been released by Friday, but the latest victim has also been discharged.

It was announced on Friday that two teenagers had been charged as juveniles, even though a prosecutor had previously said they would be charged as adults.

The suspects, who have not yet been identified by authorities, are charged with weapons-related offenses and resisting arrest, the Jackson County Family Court division said.

A third juvenile initially believed to be involved has since been determined to be unrelated to the shooting and has been released.

The murdered woman was identified by radio station KKFI-FM as Lisa López-Galván, host of ‘Taste of Tejano.’

López Galván, whose DJ name was ‘Lisa G,’ was an outgoing and devoted mother from a prominent Latino family in the area, said Rosa Izurieta and Martha Ramírez, two childhood friends who worked with her at a staffing company.

Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, donated $100,000 to López-Galván’s family through GoFundMe campaigns.

Kansas City has long struggled with gun violence and in 2020 was among nine cities targeted by the U.S. Department of Justice in an effort to combat violent crime. In 2023, the city tied a record with 182 homicides, most of which involved firearms.
