Naughty Dog Celebrates Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 Launch With New Trailer
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection launches on January 28th for the PlayStation 5 console – and we couldn’t be happier to start the adventures all over again! Remastering Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has been an incredible journey, and we hope you have a great experience in your own adventures at home.
We’ve come a long way since we first unleashed Drake, Chloe and their cohorts into the world, and we’re excited that our effort to leverage what the PS5 has to offer is these two single player adventures in one title collection. The Remaster doesn’t see one standalone adventure, but two – and as detailed in our previous PS blog post, both take advantage of the features of the PS5 and the DualSense wireless controller and include graphical updates to really make Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection cinematic and blockbuster.
Putting together this trailer at Naughty Dog was an exercise in revisiting favorite moments and sharing what we loved about the franchise and making sure those moments came through in the cut, allowing new and returning players to explore the world of Uncharted. would come in. Whether this trailer evokes nostalgia for jumping back into the games, or intrigues when playing for the first time, we hope you enjoy:
Looking together at the way we at Naughty Dog have developed the Uncharted series over the years, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are truly special for so many reasons. For example, U4 has helped us achieve a substantial improvement in almost every aspect of our animation. Our richly detailed movies could now be played in real time, paving the way for a seamless experience to and from gameplay. We’ve also incorporated physics and procedural animations into our animations. All of this helped create believable characters, tighter reaction times, fluidity and the ability to react to their environment, leading to a groundbreaking moment.
With PS5 technology, we’re excited to share Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer’s stories about this console generation in even more detail and reliability. None of this would have been possible without the talent and innovations of the imaginative and ambitious team we have – we are constantly impressed.
