Naturopath and Smart Cleanse founder Savannah Daisley from Sydney charged with child sex abuse

A naturopath and entrepreneur from Sydney’s upscale eastern suburbs has been accused of child abuse.

Savannah Daisley, 45, was facing Waverley Local Court on Tuesday on charges of four counts of sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old child, allegedly in the 24 hours before 5 p.m. on May 20 last year.

The court heard that the Instagram influencer, the daughter of celebrated horse breeder Ross Daisley, was very drunk at the time, but vehemently denies the charges and plans to plead not guilty to all charges.

Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge denied Daisley’s bail, saying the allegations were “quite disturbing,” The Daily Telegraph reports.

Pierre de Dassel, Daisley’s lawyer, said his client’s charges had been made “despite” and that it was a case of “oath versus oath.”

“There’s a motivation around its timing that really tarnishes the credibility and strength of the case,” he said.

The court heard that Daisley’s father, who bred the internationally renowned thoroughbred racehorse Choisir, would pay $10,000 bail for his daughter, who was willing to report to the police daily.

Prosecutor Daniel Richardson argued that bail should be appealed, and told the court that an officer in charge of the case told him about a phone call between Daisley and the alleged victim.

During the conversation, Mr Richardson said Daisley admitted to at least kissing the youngster, but had little recollection of the alleged offence.

“But she says, ‘I thought you were going to call the police. I thought we put this in a little box and threw it deep in the sea,'” Richardson told the court.

“His instruction to me was that the phone call was pretty damning to her. The facts are that confessions have been made that have been captured on telephone intercept and it is quite a serious matter.”

Magistrate Milledge denied bail, saying that the law governing bail with regard to child sex offenses was “fixed” and that there was justification for keeping Daisley in custody given the nature of the case.

She is due to appear in the same court again on August 22.

Daisley founded her own health company Smart Cleanse, which has over 40,000 followers on Instagram.

Her bio reads: ‘Naturopath & Coach. Health & Beauty. Created the World’s Only Gut-Focused, Premium, Organic, Practitioner Quality, Detox Kit Founder’.
