Australian Test cricket star Nathan Lyon will have another small challenge on his hands after his wife Emma revealed heartwarming images of their baby reaching a key milestone.

Emma posted a video of her little bundle of joy walking, with the caption “POV: you blinked.”

“It’s true, it really is going too fast!” he added.

The family dog, Gus, is nearby to keep an eye on Lyon’s little gift, and one friend commented that he looked like a bodyguard.

“He’s a big boy, very tolerant and gentle,” responded Nathan’s mother, Bronwyn Lyon.

Lyon himself liked the post and also commented with three love-eyed emojis.

“They are very pretty, but now they only get faster,” another friend warned.

This comes just weeks after Emma shared more rare images of her son, albeit with a hat on and his back to the camera.

Nathan has two daughters, Harper and Milla, with his previous wife. However, the cricket star and Emma have been extremely tight-lipped about their first child together.

They have not revealed the name of the rapidly growing child and are careful to publish only images and videos that do not show his face.

Emma and Nathan Lyon, both 35, have maintained a high level of privacy regarding their son since his birth last year.

Prior to this, the pregnancy was kept a secret until Daily Mail Australia published exclusive photos, after which the couple offered no comment on the child’s paternity.

Throughout this time, Emma has managed to skillfully hide her pregnancy on social media, even while accompanying Nathan on the Ashes tour from July to August.

She cleverly used styling choices to conceal her baby bump, and during a paparazzi encounter in May, she wore a coat that concealed it.

The couple also kept their engagement private before tying the knot in July 2022, making no formal announcements about their baby, highlighting their commitment to privacy.

However, Lyon has been a doting father, after previously revealing he hadn’t been the best husband after returning from The Ashes last year.

The record-breaking pacer was at his lethal best in the first two Tests as Australia raced to a 2-0 lead but his series was ended by a calf tear during the second Test at Lords.

He previously admitted that his injury and recovery made it difficult to be around him, but praised his wife for everything she did (even though she happened to be pregnant).

“I probably wasn’t the best person or the best husband during all that time when I was at home watching the last three Test matches. But we got through it,” he said.

‘I was able to get in touch with Emma and was able to chat to her, which was nice and comforting.

“She sees me at my best and at my worst, probably more than anyone else. There’s nothing in the world that compares to her support.”

“I’m very grateful to Em and everything he’s been able to do for me, especially throughout my career.”
