Nathan Buckley’s estranged wife Tania looks tense during a heated argument in Melbourne… as her ex and new girlfriend Alex Pike grow outraged at his controversial Covid tweet
Tania Buckley (née Minnici) appeared tense and depressed on Sunday during a training session with a friend in Melbourne.
The estranged wife of former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley was pictured having an animated discussion with a girlfriend as they stepped outside during the city’s fifth Covid lockdown.
Her outing happened the same day her ex was hit back for posting a bizarre tweet questioning the contagiousness of the Delta coronavirus strain.

Though she looked stressed, Tania — who was married to Nathan for 18 years before splitting up in 2020 — looked stylish in bright pink leggings and a white sweater.
She wore no makeup for the occasion and put her hair in a casual ponytail.
Her sighting comes after her ex claimed the highly contagious Delta strain was not as contagious as claimed in a controversial tweet shared Sunday.
Victoria was shut down on Thursday for the fifth time in 16 months after the latest outbreak in NSW crossed the border.

The state registered 16 new cases on Sunday, prompting Buckley to join the Covid debate in his first Twitter post since leaving Collingwood in June.
He tweeted: ‘53,283 tests yesterday in Victoria, probably the most from people exposed to people and places with confirmed positives… 16 new positives.
“So, how contagious is this thing again? My logical brain doesn’t understand.’
His new girlfriend, Alex Pike, posted her boyfriend’s tweet to her Instagram Stories, sharing the comment, “End the lockdown.”

Shortly after his post, Buckley received a response from angry Twitter users and health experts.
‘Spreading in the air. It spreads faster than a locker room rumor, Nathan, and does a comparable amount of damage if you try to maintain teamwork,” noted emergency physician and former Australian Medical Association vice president Stephen Parnis.
Buckley noted the outrage and backtracked on his comments when he admitted he supported the current lockdown.
“Strongly agree on these short sharp hard lockdowns,” he wrote.

U-turn: Nathan (pictured with his sons during his last Collingwood game as coach) later ended the heated debate by urging everyone to be nice to each other
“They seem to be quite effective. However, I wonder what the long-term solution is.’
He also had a farewell message to his critics.
“A series of assumptions and inferences returned from one observation…that’s your prerogative,” Buckley later tweeted.
‘With some well-informed logical perspectives as well. Clearly a much-discussed topic with a lot of associated emotional triggering.’
Support: Nathan Buckle Alex’s new girlfriend, Alex Pike, jumped on her boyfriend’s defense by sharing his tweet on her own Instagram
‘Be kind to eachother.’
Some fans jumped in Buckley’s defense.
“To be honest, he’s just asking a question. If half the people here could give an informed answer instead of just hating, we could get to a point where we don’t lock every time we get a case,” commented one user.
Buckley was recently ousted as Collingwood coach halfway through his 10th AFL season at the helm, paying the price for a 3-9 start to the 2021 season that cost the Magpies a chance to reach the finals.
He announced his parting with Tania last December and made headlines in May when he was first photographed with his new girlfriend.
