A mother who was allegedly run over by her husband and killed tragically lost her seven-year-old son in a drowning accident last year.
Steven Galcsik, 47, allegedly ran over his wife Natalie, 46, with a car at their home in Pokolbin, where they ran a luxury accommodation business, in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, shortly after from 6 pm on Friday.
A family member called emergency services, but despite their best efforts, Mrs Galcsik died at the scene.
Detectives are reportedly investigating how many times Ms. Galcsik was allegedly hit.
Mr. Galcsik was arrested and remanded in custody. He was formally refused bail at Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.
The couple owned Unlax @ Hunter Valley, a four-star boutique bed and breakfast offering self-catering cottages for rent in the heart of the state’s wine country.
Rooms at this rustic property start at $398 per night and offer guests “360-degree views of natural bushland and native wildlife.”
They were in business for seven years after purchasing the 40-hectare property for $1.45 million in 2017.

Galcsik’s sudden death comes just 14 months after the couple’s seven-year-old son drowned in a tragedy at a dam near the property.
The boy was pulled unconscious from a dam in Pokolbin on August 18, 2023.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene and airlifted to hospital, but unfortunately they were unable to revive him.
Detectives are investigating whether the Galcsiks, who had no police record for domestic violence, were dealing with marital problems before their deaths.
Police are also investigating whether the alleged incident was witnessed by family members, according to the news corporation.

Mrs Galcsik was a horse enthusiast and her death has shocked the entire local community.
It is understood the couple’s adult son made the triple 0 call.
An application for an AVO has been made between Galcsik and his adult son, who is due to appear at Cessnock Local Court next month.
According to online publications, Ms. Galcsik was a horse enthusiast and member of the region’s equestrian community.
She also loved dogs and was interested in spirituality and holistic wellness practices, such as reiki.
The property has been declared a crime scene and Daily Mail Australia understands its accommodation services have been suspended until further notice.
Galcsik will face Newcastle Local Court again on Monday.
