FC Bayern’s search for a striker continues to cause a lot of speculation. Victor Osimhen from SSC Napoli is apparently hot for a move to the Bundesliga. However, a mega sum would be due for the German record champions.
As “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, Osimhen would “immediately switch to Bayern”. “He’s in the mood for Munich. He was already in the Bundesliga. He didn’t ignite at Wolfsburg, but the signs have changed,” said the journalist.
Plettenberg had already spoken to the 24-year-old’s management on Monday evening about a phone call between FC Bayern. In it, the people of Munich are said to have expressed their fundamental interest in the goal scorer. However, SSC Napoli’s transfer fee could ultimately prevent a deal.
Plettenberg speculated on Tuesday about a sum between 110 and 130 million euros that could be due for Osimhen. The absolute pain limit of FC Bayern should be 100 million euros.
Does FC Bayern make Osimhen a record transfer?
Either way, Osimhen would be – if the deal actually comes about – then Bayern’s record transfer. The record is currently held by defender Lucas Hernández, for whom Munich paid around 80 million euros in 2019.
However, Osimhen is not Bayern’s only candidate. Especially Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt is considered a hot alternative. In addition, the names of Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Goncalo Ramos (Benfica) and Julián Álvarez (Manchester City) are circulating through the media.
In the current season, FC Bayern is counting on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the front row. The attacker recently extended his contract for another season until 2024. At 34, however, Choupo-Moting is at an advanced footballing age.
