A South Carolina man has been arrested after representatives said he was caught naked on a drug-fueled walk of shame, with only a clear plastic bag covering his genitals.

Michael Boatman, 41, was seen just after 1 a.m. on Thursday strolling down New Cut Road in Spartanburg in his birthday suit, holding a marijuana cigarette.

When questioned on the spot by the Spartanburg sheriff’s deputies, Boatman said he did a ‘walk of shame’ as a ‘penance for defrauding his wife, according to an arrest report quoted by The Smoking Gun.

Boatman asked the deputies if he could complete his walk, and was told he couldn’t.

The bare naked suspect “referred to Adam and Eve from the Bible and stated that he was willing to go to prison for his actions,” the arrest documents said.

Boatman is also reported to have admitted to taking methamphetamine before starting his walk.

After being stowed in the back of a patrol vehicle, the remorseful husband said he would try to escape from prison, complained that “he had no tomorrow,” and asked a deputy to shoot him.

Boatman was placed in county jail on charges of indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and opposition to police.

Boatman remained behind bars on Thursday night, despite his earlier boasting.

Records show he has a long criminal history, including three separate domestic violence convictions.
