Police have found no sign of a woman reported missing more than 10 hours after she was allegedly washed up on rocks off a popular Gold Coast beach.
Gold Coast Police began a major search for the woman after she was reported missing from Currumbin Beach at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The search has seen officers search both the shoreline and the sea amid difficult conditions and rain.
The alleged disappearance of the woman was reported by a man who was in the water when she fell.
The man then reported the incident to other witnesses on the beach, but disappeared before the police arrived.

Police discovered fishing gear on the rocks but found no sign of the woman with inconclusive CCTV footage nearby.
They are now asking for the man to come forward after admitting that they have yet to determine whether or not a woman is missing.
“It’s crucial that this man contact us,” said Acting Superintendent Scott Knowles.
We need to know firsthand what he saw.
“We have an idea of who it may be and have done some research and haven’t been able to locate him, but it would be helpful if you would contact the police.”

If the woman was dragged away, police say they have serious concerns about her safety.
The search, which started last night, had to be stopped due to bad sea conditions.
Police have also been unable to use helicopters to assist searchers due to wet weather.
They are urging anyone with information to call them immediately.
