Two Georgia firefighters, once high school sweethearts, were mysteriously found dead in a car in Tennessee following a week-long search for the couple.
Reagan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, both 24, disappeared June 24 from the parking lot of a Crunch gym, and authorities launched a multi-state search after the two were believed to have left in Anderson’s car.
Their bodies were found more than 450 miles away inside the vehicle on Sunday, but police have not provided any details about the cause of their deaths or how they were found.
Kuhbander’s mother said they dated for seven years in a “toxic” relationship and claimed Anderson took their recent breakup hard and threatened suicide and was bullying her son.

The couple of seven years had recently split up and Kuhbander (pictured) had reportedly said Anderson was stalking him and threatened to kill himself.
Kuhbander was last seen leaving a Crunch gym in Savannah, Georgia, where his mother, Jane, said he was seen walking “out of the building and he looked very comfortable, like he had just worked out.”
“He didn’t seem to be in a hurry when he was walking through the parking lot,” she told WJCL. “After that, we didn’t see him again.”
Kuhbander’s mother said she saw surveillance footage showing Anderson circling the gym’s parking lot several times while he was inside.
Security footage shows him heading towards his car, however Kuhbander’s mother said she believes he got into his Ford Focus “under duress”. They claimed his car never left the parking lot and his family later went to pick him up.
The pair appear to have begun driving together, and Anderson was last seen on surveillance footage at a gas station in South Carolina that day, at the same location where Kuhbander’s phone last rang on a cell tower.
Authorities have not said why the former couple were driving together or what their intended destination was.
Kuhbander was last seen leaving a Crunch gym in Savannah, Georgia, and is believed to have gotten into Anderson’s car and left his own in the parking lot.
Kuhbander’s mother, Jane (pictured next to her), said she believes her son got into Anderson’s car “under pressure” and claimed he told her she was exhibiting disruptive behavior following their breakup.
Authorities launched an extensive week-long search to find the former couple after they vanished, and were looking for Anderson’s black Ford Fiesta (pictured) that they had driven away in. They were later found dead in the car, 450 miles from where they left.
Authorities said Anderson was seen on a blurry surveillance video at a gas station in South Carolina. It’s unclear why the couple was driving or what their intended destination was.

After a week-long search in which both families asked for help finding the two, Hinesville, Georgia, police said Sunday that both were found dead in the car in Cocke County, Tennessee.
Kuhbander’s mother said she last spoke to her son a few days before he disappeared, and claimed he told her Anderson had been continually harassing him after their breakup.
“He told me she was blowing up his phone and that she had threatened to commit suicide,” he said.
“And it’s not the first time he’s done it.”
Two days before her disappearance, Anderson was arrested after spotting Kuhbander on a date with another woman and allegedly scratching her car.
Kuhbander’s mother told WJCL that he posted bail and was facing charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
She claimed Anderson wrote a suicide note to her son the day they disappeared and said he continued to comfort her despite their breakup in the days leading up to it.
“He’s very determined to do the right thing and keep people safe,” she added to Court TV. “He really cares about Reagan.”
Two days before they disappeared, Anderson allegedly scratched Kuhbander’s car after she saw him on a date with another woman.
Kuhbander’s heartbroken family said they were “trying to find the words to say goodbye” after his shocking death.
Amid numerous unanswered questions about what happened to the two or how they died, an autopsy is reportedly being prepared to determine the cause of their deaths.
“Details regarding the discovery of their bodies, the vehicle and the events leading up to their deaths are not available at this time,” police said in a statement.
In a heartbreaking Facebook post, Kuhbander’s sister said she was “trying to find the words to say goodbye, but I can’t.”
“It tears me apart to even think of not having you here. Never in my life did I think I would have to live without you,” she wrote.
“It’s always been my two older brothers, but now it’s just Xander and I. We will honor you in every way possible. No one will ever ignore who you are and what a great person you are. I will love you forever, sweetheart.”
