A man found dead in a playground has been identified as a beloved father-of-two, as the police murder investigation continues.
Anmol Bajwa, 36, was found dead in a park off Elementary Road, Mambourin, in Melbourne’s west, about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Mr Bajwa is believed to have met an associate whom he had helped financially on Monday afternoon in the park.
Mr Bajwa’s wife alerted authorities to the 36-year-old’s disappearance when he did not return home.
Police arrived at the park on Tuesday morning, where detectives found Mr Bajwa’s body under a picnic table.
A police spokeswoman confirmed on Tuesday that investigations were still ongoing.
“The exact circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be determined,” he said.
“A man, believed to be known to the victim, is currently in custody assisting police with investigations.

“The investigation is ongoing and police are willing to speak to anyone in the area who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
Mr Bajwa was an Indian migrant and the father of two young children, aged six and three.
Friends described him as a respected member of the local community.
“Anmol was a source of love, light and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him,” said a colleague on social media.
“His kindness, wisdom and unwavering support will forever remain in our hearts…may his legacy live on in the lives he touched.”
Another friend said the young father had struggled to make a life for his family since moving to Australia.
‘Anmol was a community and family oriented person who worked hard to build a better life in Australia. I’m only 36 years old, too short a life,” he wrote.
