Mystery surrounds the disappearance of an elderly couple last seen in a Lexus sedan parking lot

  • Concerns about the missing couple Otto and Gerda, 87 from southeast Melbourne
  • Couple last seen exiting the Kings Way parking lot Tuesday night in a gold Lexus sedan
  • Family raised the alarm after failing to attend a scheduled medical appointment

An urgent search is underway for an elderly Melbourne couple, who were feared missing after being unable to attend a scheduled medical appointment.

Police are deeply concerned about the Bentleigh couple Otto and Gerda, both 87 years old, from the southeast of the city, who have been missing for nearly 24 hours.

The pair were last seen exiting a Kings Way car park on Tuesday evening around 6:30 pm in their gold Lexus sedan, registration PYM-184, heading into town.

Concerned family members rang the bell on Wednesday morning after Otto and Gerda were not present at an agreed medical appointment.

Their disappearance is out of character as the couple is usually in regular contact with family.

The police are concerned about Otto and Gerda’s well-being, as both require ongoing medical treatment.

Their frantic daughter is expected to address the media at a police press conference later on Wednesday.

Otto is described as being 180 cm tall, of medium build with balding white hair and blue eyes.

Gerda is described as being 170 cm tall with short curly white hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who has seen a couple or their car is urged to contact Moorabbin Police Station at 9556 6565 or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
