Zendaya and Tom Holland got engaged over the holidays after the English actor reportedly asked the Challengers star’s father for permission.
However, in an exclusive phone call with DailyMail.com, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman denied a report suggesting that Tom, 28, asked for his daughter’s hand in marriage before the proposal.
When contacted for comment on his reaction to Zendaya, 28, getting engaged to Tom, Kazembe told DailyMail.com that what was reported was “a load of rubbish”.
“That was a bunch of nonsense dished out by TMZ,” he said before adding, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
When asked for further answers by a DailyMail.com journalist, he declined to comment further.
The star’s father has been by her side throughout her career and has accompanied her to various red carpets and events as her manager and bodyguard.

Sources close to the newly engaged couple said TMZ that the Spider-Man star met with Zendaya’s father ‘months ago’ to get his blessing before taking a knee.
Sources went on to say that it was “an important step” for Tom as he is “very traditional” and wanted to secure Kazembe’s blessing.
Tom reportedly popped the question “between Christmas and New Year’s,” but it wasn’t made public until Zendaya made an appearance at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Zendaya showed off the sparkler ring on the red carpet, which initially sparked engagement rumors.
It was later confirmed that she and Tom are engaged.
The Euphoria star’s new 5-carat cushion-cut diamond is set in an 18k white and yellow gold band.
The ring is said to be from stylish New Zealand-born, London-based jeweler Jessica McCormack and is estimated to be worth more than $200,000.
Kazembe has accompanied his daughter at various events as a bodyguard and manager.

Their engagement was officially confirmed after the awards ceremony, as it was revealed that her engagement ring costs $200k.
A source revealed to DailyMail.com that the proposal was “sweet and romantic” and that Tom proposed the “old fashioned way.”
His family, including his mother Claire Stoermer and his five siblings, are “delighted.”
The source also revealed that what’s next is to “start a family.”
‘They are the most normal couple at home and she is willing to spend her life with him.
“She’s achieved everything she dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list,” the source shared.
Their plan, according to the source, is to have the “traditional family” without babysitters or nannies to help them.
‘They currently have no equipment at home. “It’s just them and that’s how they prefer it,” the source added.
The couple seems to have very clear goals for their future.

It wasn’t until 2021 when they officially confirmed that they were secretly dating.
The Hollywood couple owns an elegant $3.7 million property in London’s Richmond neighborhood, where they enjoy spending time with their Doberman puppy named Noon.
Tom previously revealed that the reason he keeps his relationship with his girlfriend Zendaya so private is because their bond is “the thing he holds most sacred.”
