The former child star – now 59 – rose to fame at age six as Dorothy “Dodie” Harper-Douglas in the final three seasons of the CBS sitcom, a role she played from 1969-1972.
Last month it was revealed on social media by her former co-stars that Dawn was fighting for her life, with Tina Cole (who played Katie Miller-Douglas) saying the star is now showing the first signs of recovery.

Tina told the publication that Dawn’s husband John gave her an update on Monday, saying the star is “doing the best she’s had in the hospital since her surgery,” breathing without oxygen and opening her eyes at times.
Tina said she visited Dawn in the hospital last week, where she held her hand and talked to her while she was unconscious.
TMZ also reports that Dawn’s producer friend Rock Whitehead posted a positive update on social media, saying she’s made “great strides” since being hospitalized more than two weeks ago.
Dawn’s condition was initially described on social media by her former co-stars Tima and including Stanley Livingston (who played Richard “Chip” Douglas) – with the actors urging fans to “pray” for Dawn’s recovery.

Stanley wrote last week: “I just found out that my little TV sister, DAWN LYN (Dodie), is in a coma fighting for her life. She recently had surgery to remove a brain tumor.
“Please pray for a speedy and full recovery for her. I took Dawn out for lunch a few months ago. We had a great time reminiscing about our MTS days. Dawn is one of the nicest people I’ve ever known.
“Thoughts and prayers also go out to her husband, John at this time. This is terrible news!”

Lyn’s brother, actor and musician Leif Garrett, 60, told the publication: “My sister, Dawn, never wanted anyone to know about the surgery.
“Since it has been leaked on social media, I would really appreciate it if everyone could understand that it has been a difficult time to have lost both our parents and a cousin recently.”
“Please keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers and respect the privacy of our family. Thank you.’
