Anip Patel was left disgusted when he saw how dirty his first-class cabin was on an Air India flight earlier this month.

A traveler was left disgusted after taking a luxury first class flight and encountering filthy conditions on the nightmarish plane.

Anip Patel paid £4,700 to fly in style from Chicago to Delhi, but boarding the Boeing 777 was shocked to find strands of hair lodged in various cracks, broken furniture and seats covered in dirt.

The disgruntled passenger pulled out his phone to record the grim conditions of what he thought would be a glamorous first-class compartment, but instead captured mold-laden surfaces and a broken television.

According to Patel, the in-flight entertainment was supposedly disrupted during the 15-hour flight and the dishes seemed average at best, with stale-looking samosas and lumpy soup.

He said: ‘Look how disgusting this is, there was hair and things moving in every compartment.

‘Everything was broken, ruined or moldy. I understand normal wear and tear, but this was next level, guys.

Patel admitted the onboard menu was “promising” but claimed 30 per cent of the food was unavailable.

He added: ‘They only had one of each item and there were only four of us in the entire cabin. And it was basically first come, first serve.”

In their gruesome clip, viewers were stunned to see thick black dirt clogging the ventilation system and mysterious stains on the fabric of the seats.

The furious passenger also lamented the lack of Wi-Fi and the broken in-flight entertainment system which the crew was unable to fix, leaving him with nothing to do for the entire flight.

Patel said: ‘It was a nightmare. I was robbed on this flight.

He later said in an update that Air India had offered him a full refund for the bad experience.

He said: “I didn’t lodge any complaint with Air India but through social media they saw this video, they called me today and refunded me for the entire flight, they fixed it and it’s worth noting.”

Air India was ranked 103rd out of 350 airlines in the Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2023.

The flag carrier rose slightly to 90th position in 2024, but is still far behind the major airlines globally in terms of passenger experience and service quality.
