A mom and self-described “Home hacks queen” shared her simple hack for removing wrinkles from clothes that have been left in the dryer for too long, but not everyone thinks it works.
Carolina McCauley, from Perth, has built a huge Instagram following of over 2.6 million people thanks to her home hacks and cleaning tips.
In her latest video, the Byrth mom said you simply need to place three or four ice cubes with your clothes in the dryer and put them through a quick drying cycle.
The cubes will melt, creating a moisture and steam-like effect that will remove wrinkles and leave clothes wrinkle-free.

In it, Karolina writes, “How to remove wrinkles from clothes that have been left in the dryer overnight.” video.
“Next time you forget to put laundry in the dryer, put 3-4 ice cubes in the dryer with your clothes and put them through a 10-minute quick-dry.”
“No more wrinkles,” Karolina added, while holding a topper that was left to curl and wrinkle after sitting in the dryer overnight.
Thousands who saw the simple trick were quick to thank Carolina for sharing it, and said they would give it a go.
However, many also said that the shirt she wore was not a good example of wrinkle-free clothing.
“What world is this wrinkle-free?” one person wrote.
“Is it just me or are there still wrinkles?” Another added.
While many liked the trick, not everyone thought it left clothes wrinkle-free (pictured yet).
According to experts, the trick often works because when ice combines with heat, it creates steam—which turns your dryer into a mini steamer.
The trick works best if you’re only trying to smooth out one or two folds of clothing, but as if the dryer is too full, it doesn’t work very well.
There are other ways to remove wrinkles from your clothes without ironing.
You can try hanging clothes in the bathroom while you’re in the shower so the steam can start working.
Finally, you can also use your hair dryer as a makeshift steamer.
