Former My Kitchen Rules host Pete Evans has revealed a very surprising skill.

The controversial celebrity chef, 51, appeared in a photo shared on the Instagram page of Macaronis Surf Resort in Mentawai, Indonesia.

The photo shows Pete effortlessly making his way through a pristine blue barrel, deftly sticking his left hand into the wave to maintain balance.

Looking very much like the character, he wore a mustard-colored T-shirt and a pair of shorts with orange and blue prints.

He also wore a pair of black surf boots and a black sun cap to protect his eyes from the sun.

Pete’s face was the picture of determination as he skillfully made his way through the waves.

The image was also shared on Instagram by Pete’s wife Nicola Robinson, who captioned the image with a simple “Pete” and a smiley face with a heart emoji.

Pete has been keeping a low profile since 15 sponsors and companies dropped him in the space of 48 hours in November 2020 after he posted a neo-Nazi meme on social media.

He has also faced a number of controversies in recent years.

The once-popular reality TV star has drawn scrutiny for spreading anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and was fined $25,000 for promoting a light machine he claimed helped cure Covid.

In May 2020, it was announced that Pete had parted ways with Channel Seven after 10 years as a judge on My Kitchen Rules alongside Manu Feildel and guest judge Colin Fassnidge.

This effectively marked his break with the mainstream after years of flirting with fringe ideas during his tenure at the network.

Following the split, Evans began touting her beliefs about vaccines and the Covid-19 pandemic on social media.

In July 2020, Evans sparked outrage when he claimed that Covid-19 was a “fucking hoax” and that the pandemic “doesn’t compare to what’s happening in the world on a larger scale.”

In May 2021, he was fined $80,000 for promoting “alternative treatments” for Covid.

It was the second time he had run afoul of authorities after previously being fined $25,000 for trying to sell his ‘BioCharger’ device for $15,000 a pop on Facebook.
