My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge has revealed the best places to eat in Australia and the one cafe he “always” visits for “great” coffee.
The Irish chef has declared family-owned Thai restaurant Porkfat in Sydney’s Haymarket the “best restaurant” in the country.
“I took Nigella Lawson there last year and she’s (still) raving about it,” Fassnidge told Secondz, an Australian restaurant recommendation app.
The establishment has received hundreds of five-star reviews from foodies who praised the restaurant’s menu, ambiance and service.
“This is the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to,” said one. ‘Very powerful and absolutely delicious flavors. The pork jowl is a must-try, as is their homemade coconut ice cream dessert, which is divine.
The celebrity chef named Billy’s Bar Espresso in Maroubra as the go-to place for the best coffee in Sydney.
Australians are very picky about their coffee and often criticize foreigners who claim that Australian coffee is not up to par.
“(Billy is a) very loud coffee maker, he never shuts up,” Fassnidge joked. “But it makes excellent coffee.”
The chef’s order is a flat white with a triple shot of espresso.

The small restaurants are known for making their food from scratch and using top quality Australian ingredients.
