My Kitchen Rules star caught on camera performing ‘unsanitary’ act in Woolworths vegetable aisle – before being eliminated from show
A My Kitchen Rules star raised eyebrows on Wednesday night after committing a questionable act in the vegetable section of a Woolworths supermarket.
The episode saw sisters Patricija and Brigita hit the shops to prepare their Lithuanian-inspired instant restaurant.
However, things went wrong when it came time to purchase the ingredients for their cold beetroot soup.
In one scene, a frantic Patricija was seen picking up a bunch of shallots from a Woolworths display, before accidentally dropping a second bunch on the floor.
Rather than alert an employee, she simply picked up the shallots and put them back on the display, ready for another shopper to pick up.

The correct etiquette for handling dropped produce in the supermarket is the subject of ongoing debate.
According to Food RepublicIf the product isn’t damaged, shoppers don’t have to worry about alerting an employee and can simply put it back on the pile and continue on their way.
This would likely apply to shallots, which would not be easily damaged upon impact.

Shoppers are never encouraged to leave products on the floor, as this could cause other shoppers to trip and injure themselves.
Dropped food can be exposed to bacteria on the floor. So, buyers are always advised to wash newly purchased products before eating them.
