Get ready to roar. The time has come again for the students of UA High School to push their Quirks to the limit and show what they are made of; now include heroes-in-training Eijiro Kirishima, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Ibara Shiozaki. Go Plus Ultra! with these characters and more in My Hero Ultra Rumble, available for free on September 28.
With our launch just around the corner with this free-to-play battle royale coming to PS4, we’re excited to give the PlayStation community a deep dive into the newly announced characters. These three heroes-in-training have incredible quirks and playstyles, so check them out below to see how they’ll change the battlefield along with your squad.
Eijiro Kirishima, Red Riot hero name, is skilled in both attack and defense thanks to his body-hardening Quirk, and is best suited to eliminate all his opponents at close range. His Special Action activates his Quirk, increasing his defense and preventing him from retreating from his opponents’ attacks. If your preferred playstyle is to jump into the fray and create space for your team to help them perform their duties, Red Riot may be the hero for you.
Momo Yaoyorozu, Creati hero name, can create anything from nothing except living beings. True to his hero name, Momo can create weapons and items and support your allies by preparing the right equipment for the right moment.
Her Quirk abilities can create blunt weapons with which she can attack her enemies, shields to protect herself and her allies, or even a cannon that fires explosive rounds. Her special action ability, Yaoyorozu’s Lucky Bag, allows her to create a bag containing a random item, which can synergize well with her support function if you get a recovery item. If you’re the type of player who enjoys monitoring the battlefield and having a variety of abilities to prepare for any situation you find yourself in, be sure to keep an eye on Momo.
Finally, Ibara Shiozaki, hero name Vine, is another member of the support role who can manipulate her vine hair at will and use complicated attacks to trap and restrict her opponents’ movements while safely staying at a distance. His Quirk binding ability immobilizes enemies, so his teammates can unleash their attacks on his defenseless opponent, and he can also revive his fallen allies using his Special Action.
Do you want to lock up your enemies and revive your allies? Check out Ibara Shiozaki when she launches alongside My Hero Ultra Rumble on September 28.
Exclusive first look at the new suits.
We’re also excited to show you how to renew your favorite characters’ fashions. Get a chance to unlock casual costumes for Midoriya Izuku and Bakugo Katsuki.
To give you some additional insight into the creation of these costumes, here’s what producer Aoba Miyazaki shared about the development process:
“When creating costumes, we try to minimize the number of moving objects (such as cloth movement) so that they do not interfere with the character model during battle. However, we made exceptions and challenged ourselves to implement costumes with coats and capes that we consider essential to the character. If you see a costume with dynamic fabric movement during a battle, we hope you feel our commitment to the design.
We have prepared five types of costume designs to enhance the characters in the game. The color variations are designed to stand out from the usual My Hero costumes even from a distance, so expect color variations as well.”
- hero/villain style
- Heat
- Combat

How to get these costumes
Are you looking forward to collecting all the costumes and showing off the Plus Ultra style?
Players can obtain these sets through Roll pulls using Roll Tickets or Hero Crystals (in-game currency). Both can be obtained by completing in-game quests, login rewards, or in-game purchases. Once you have enough Roll Tickets or Hero Crystals, try your luck to unlock the costumes.
These costumes will also have a higher chance of appearing when they are first released. So if you have that character you love, keep an eye out for new releases as they will be your best chance to acquire it.
