A bride-to-be’s bitter complaint about a friend who arrived empty-handed at her bachelorette party has backfired.
The furious bride came under fire online after criticizing her good friend for not bringing a gift from the till, cash or a card that day.
“I’m also worried about her and her partner doing this for the wedding,” the bride said.
In her rant, which was reposted on a popular wedding shaming group, she also criticized her friend for texting her the morning of the party to see if she needed anything.
‘Surely this isn’t your outing for not bringing anything?’ I took it like we needed an ice pack,” she said.

Enraged, the defensive girlfriend left sarcastic responses to those who criticized her for being spoiled and entitled.
She then added that her friend probably didn’t give her anything because she’s “Australian.”
“Culturally, every European I know expects a show of good wishes at a bridal shower,” she said, before adding that her partner didn’t mind the lack of a gift.
“She’s Australian like my partner and he didn’t see any flaws in her behaviour,” he said.
One woman said that while receiving a card is nice, “bachelorette parties” aren’t really card-worthy events.
‘I can’t believe people actually expect gifts. Stop and think about why you’re doing this and gifts and money shouldn’t even be on the list,” she said.
Many agreed that gifts should never be expected.
“Everyone repeats after me: ‘Your guests are not obligated to give you a gift just because you invited them,'” one wrote.
However, others were divided.
“Technically, you’re supposed to bring a gift if you’re invited to a bridal shower, but the bride should also be gracious enough to thank a guest for coming, even if they didn’t bring anything,” one said.
“In America, the main event of the bridal shower is sitting around watching the bride open gifts,” said another.
The bride said she learned from the ‘ugly’ event and will be less generous in the future.
