A young mother-of-two has been left with “horse teeth” and $10,000 out of pocket after receiving veneers in Melbourne.
Ash Murray was fed up with having to go to the dentist regularly to correct ongoing problems with her composite bonding, an alternative method to veneers for filling gaps in teeth using a resin material.
Instead, the 25-year-old opted for veneers and spent a year’s savings, but the results were “absolutely disappointing” and extremely painful.
‘I made a mistake! He didn’t even know what to say, he was so embarrassing. They were huge!’ Ash told FEMAIL.
Ash said he told the dentist his honest opinion about his new smile and assured him that “they look great,” but his family and friends said otherwise.

“The teeth felt really big and I could barely close my mouth, but the dentist said I’d get used to it,” Ash recalled.
‘I came home and my whole family made fun of me saying I had horse teeth! They were so big for my mouth and rested on my gums that they hurt and caused inflammation.’
The teeth were too wide for Ash’s small mouth; They were also abnormally white and she began to lisp.

Despite the dentist’s outdated practices and the clinic’s unappealing appearance, Ash continued with treatment.
To make matters worse, a week after undergoing the procedure, his face was paralyzed by Bell’s palsy.
“It was such a strange coincidence: I was a mess,” Ash said.
The young housewife was also feeling the financial burden after spending $10,000.
Fed up, Ash decided to get her teeth fixed and opted for Dental Boutique, which helps her with “botched” jobs.
He paid $26,000 to have his teeth redone in November 2023 and says he has yet to receive a refund from the previous dental clinic.
