Kaitlin Armstrong, 36, was sentenced to 90 years in prison last year for shooting dead Texas cycling star Anna Moriah 'Mo' Wilson, 25, who was furious about her relationship with her professional cycling boyfriend Colin Strickland.

The jealous yoga teacher who shot her young love rival in the heart quietly transferred all of her property to relatives to avoid compensating her victim’s family, a new lawsuit claims.

Kaitlin Armstrong, 36, was sentenced to 90 years in prison last year for shooting dead Texas cycling star Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson, 25, who was furious about her relationship with her professional cycling boyfriend Colin Strickland.

Last month, a judge ordered Armstrong to pay $15 million to Wilson’s parents after they sued her for wrongful death, but a new lawsuit from the couple claims that “most, if not all, of her estate” had already passed to her mother and sister.

“If the family has benefited financially, then my clients believe they are entitled to receive and recover those recoveries,” said Wilson’s attorney, Randy Howry.

Wilson’s parents, Eric and Karen, have requested $1 million in compensation for funeral expenses, “loss of society and companionship” and the “conscious pain, suffering and mental anguish” their daughter suffered during her murder in 2022.

Wilson, a rising star in the world of gravel cycling, began dating Strickland after he broke up with Armstrong, and their relationship continued after he got back together with his ex-girlfriend.

In May 2022, Wilson traveled to Austin for a race and planned to meet Strickland for dinner.

Armstrong followed them to the restaurant and his black Jeep was caught on surveillance video driving around the block.

After the meal, Strickland drove Wilson to her friend’s apartment, where she was staying before Armstrong stopped outside and fired three shots, fatally wounding his love rival.

She fled to Costa Rica using her sister’s passport, dyed her hair and underwent a nose job and eyebrow lift before police caught her after 43 days on the run.

A TV movie called Yoga Teacher Killer: The Kaitlin Armstrong Story, starring Caity Lotz as Armstrong, Kyle Schmid as Strickland and Larissa Dias as Mo, aired on Lifetime last month, and Howry said the family filed a lawsuit against her out of fear that she would take advantage of her notoriety.

“The process is to obtain a judgment against her, so that if she gets a movie deal, a book deal, a television deal, and money comes into her account in one way or another, then our judgment will prevent her from getting that money and enjoying it for her personal benefit,” he told CBS.

An attorney for Wilson's parents, Eric and Karen, said their action was designed to prevent Armstrong from profiting from his notoriety.

But her new lawsuit claims Armstrong has already transferred his stake in three properties to his family in an attempt to avoid paying for his crime.

Two properties in Austin were reportedly transferred to her mother or sister before being sold, while her stake in a third she co-owned with Strickland was transferred to her sister, Christine Armstrong, before being gifted back to Strickland.

The lawsuit also claims Armstrong’s Chase bank account was emptied of $78,000 just three days after his victim’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him.

Howry said Wilson’s family is “not interested in making a lot of money.”

“What they are interested in is making sure that Kaitlin does not benefit financially, nor does her family, because of Kaitlin Armstrong’s actions,” he added.

His trial was nearly derailed in October last year when he fled from two officers while attending a medical appointment.

This time she remained at large for only 10 minutes before being recaptured and charged with escape causing bodily injury, a charge that was later dropped.

The following month she was found guilty of first-degree murder and told she would not be eligible for parole until 2053.

Armstrong filed a motion for a new trial in December of last year, and last week requested an evidentiary hearing citing “newly discovered evidence, false evidence and claims of ineffective assistance of counsel.”

Court documents reviewed by DailyMail.com reveal that Armstrong was pregnant “at or near the time of her arrest.”

“Given that the sentence here was 90 years and a maximum fine, there should be no doubt that this mitigating evidence would have resulted in a lighter punishment,” his attorney wrote.

The document portrays Armstrong as a victim of sexual abuse and the daughter of an alcoholic mother and an absent father.

However, the search for compassion from the relatives of the woman she killed is lost.

Wilson’s mother addressed Armstrong directly moments after his sentencing.

“When you shot Moriah in the heart, you shot me in the heart,” he said.
