A young woman who was chased by two men and shot days before Christmas had already faced death in 2016 when she was stabbed in the heart.

Chloe Jade Mason, known to those close to her as CeeJay, was found unconscious on Railway Parade in Caboolture, north of Brisbane, shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The 23-year-old could not be revived and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Queensland police are still searching for his callous killers and the murder weapon they used.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that in 2016 Ms Mason was involved in a stabbing that almost claimed her life.

“Now I’m in the (hospital) room,” he shared on social media at the time.

“I still have nurses around me 24/7 checking on me (and) making sure everything is correct and nothing is out of place.”

‘I have 2 drains in my heart to drain all the blood that is leaking from the valve that was cut when the knife penetrated my heart 3cm deep.

“I am fighting this with the love and support of my family and friends.”

The shocking revelation comes after it was revealed that her on-off ex-boyfriend, Kane Alexanderson, 18, was stabbed to death in 2020 during a knife fight.

The incident involving his former love occurred inside a high-rise apartment in Brisbane when Alexanderson, along with eight other men, burst inside to confront a man watching an Australia Day fireworks display.

An altercation resulted in Alexanderson being stabbed twice.

In the years after his death, Mason periodically paid tribute to him on social media.

“Your spirit is still alive in my soul Kane, I can’t feel you as much anymore and you don’t give me any signs that you’re there,” he wrote in a disturbing Facebook post.

“I hope you’ve finally crossed over to the other side, but never forget that it’s never goodbye, I’ll always see you soon.”

“Words cannot explain the pain I am going through, you will always be a part of my family and my heart,” he wrote in another post.

Ms Mason was facing a string of offenses in the Brisbane Magistrates Court and the Queensland Supreme Court when she died.

She had previously been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of supplying drugs.

In a strange coincidence, Mr. Alexanderson’s mother had spent time in prison with Mrs. Mason.

‘They just loved each other. They were beautiful. She wanted to see him again. “I definitely missed him,” he told The Courier Mail after visiting the spot where Mason died.

A former friend paid tribute to her “prison sister” and recalled how they communicated from cell vents during nighttime lockdowns.

“Rest in peace, CeeJay Mason,” he posted.

“We will all miss you so much, my prison sister, fly high darling.”

Investigators have established a task force of local and homicide detectives to lead the investigation into the tragic death.

Police say at this time they have not yet located the murder weapon, but detectives believe it was a targeted attack and say there is no further risk to the public.

One witness said he heard “about three or four gunshots and then a little bit of moaning.”

Police questioned residents of another property on the street, but detectives maintain they have no suspects or confirmed leads.

“We have a number of witnesses who are currently assisting us, however we do not have anyone in custody,” Detective Inspector David Harbison said.

“It is a tragedy to lose such a young life in such a violent way, so we will get to the bottom of it. It is the best thing we can do for the family at this time.”

On Sunday, Mason’s devastated sister launched a fundraiser to share a heartbreaking message.

“Chloe was chased by two men and shot dead on December 22, 2024 in Brisbane,” Hannah McKone posted on GoFundMe.

‘Chloe was only 23 years old.

‘Being so close to Christmas, his family has no savings or financial means to organize a funeral for him.

‘We kindly ask for help and support in this. All donated funds will be used directly for Chloe’s funeral.

Another sister, Danni Mason, remembered Chloe as a “daughter, sister, aunt and friend… who was loved by many.”

‘This loss has devastated our family and we struggle to come to terms with this so close to the holidays…

‘As sisters, we mourn the things she will not experience, all the things we cannot share and the memories we will not make. “She was an incredible woman.”
