Shocking images have emerged of an elderly man being knocked to the ground by a teenager in broad daylight.

Police are now investigating the unprovoked attack that occurred at the Munno Para shopping centre in Adelaide’s north on Thursday afternoon.

The footage shows the teenager confronting the man in his 60s, calling him a “fool” before landing a single punch that knocked the victim to the ground.

“Get up, dog,” the teenager seemed to say to the man lying on the ground.

The man stood up and grabbed a nearby scooter as he tried to defend himself, but moments later he was hit by a shopping cart.

The disturbing incident was allegedly filmed by a group of teenagers who were watching and did nothing to help the man, according to Seven News.

The teenagers had fled the scene when police arrived.

South Australian Police have confirmed they are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation.

The man in his 60s was allegedly assaulted at the Munno Para mall on Thursday.

A video of an innocent man being savagely attacked by a teenager outside a busy shopping centre in South Australia was captured by a gang of youths who did nothing to help.

“Officers spoke to the victim involved, who reported being pushed and shoved by the group who left the scene shortly afterwards,” a police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

No charges have yet been filed.

Other shoppers were shocked to see such chaotic scenes, saying: “This is getting out of hand.”

“It’s not that they provoked him to hit him, he just hit him for the sake of it,” one woman said. 7News.

One man added: “It’s disrespectful, but unfortunately that’s how our society is.”

The man is not known to have been seriously injured.
