An Australian mummy blogger has responded to “unfair” accusations that she drugged her baby and is now consulting with lawyers about what to do next.

The mother of four, who cannot be named to protect the baby’s identity, was accused of faking her one-year-old daughter’s brain tumor by drugging her.

A GoFundMe launched to cover medical costs raised more than $60,000 in June before authorities froze it in light of the allegations.

The woman strongly denied harming her daughter, but said she could not speak further about the situation while police investigated.

“It is very unfair and at this time it is being addressed with the appropriate attorney,” she said when contacted by a nine news reporter on the phone.

‘I can’t talk too much. I will have my lawyer contact you.

“I can’t talk to you, I have said that this is a matter that cannot be talked about.”

Queensland Police have not yet laid charges or made any arrests so far in their investigation.

It is understood hospital staff raised the alarm after the mother’s online updates about the boy’s surgery did not match his actual treatment.

The baby was placed in foster care on October 21 and is understood to be recovering.

Detectives from Queensland Police’s Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit are leading the investigation into reports of “child harm”.

South Brisbane district chief superintendent Andrew Pilotto said the investigation would be “prolonged and complicated”.

“It’s lengthy and complicated, and it will take a little time, but I can assure you that the child is safe while the investigation continues,” he said.

“I can’t get into the methodology of why that will take time, but it will take some time.”

A GoFundMe spokesperson said the website is also investigating the allegations.

“Our Trust and Safety specialists are investigating the allegations made as part of our standard due diligence process,” the spokesperson said.

‘This includes cooperating with police investigations.

‘We are committed to being the safest place to give and have spent more than a decade building teams, technologies and policies to protect Australian generosity.

‘This includes the GoFundMe Donation Guarantee, which guarantees a refund in the rare case that something is wrong.

“While the investigation is ongoing, no further funds can be raised or withdrawn.”

It comes as the woman’s estranged husband, who is the child’s father, also publicly accused her of drugging the child.

She claimed to have no idea what was supposedly happening and had believed the surgeries would help her son’s seizures and non-cancerous tumors.

“For what it’s worth, I had no idea what (the mother) was doing to (the child),” the devastated father said in a social media post on Monday.

‘I pushed for those surgeries because in my heart I felt they would help.

‘I didn’t realize that (the girl) was (allegedly) being drugged all the time, which caused her symptoms to be what they were.

‘I do the best I can to love and protect my children. I should have done better for them. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect (the child) like I should have.”

The couple was previously active on multiple social media platforms, but their accounts are no longer updated.

On Tuesday, Queensland Police confirmed their investigation in a statement to Daily Mail Australia, but no charges have been laid.

“Police are aware of reports of harm to a one-year-old girl,” police said.

‘The Queensland Police Service took action to protect the child and launched an investigation.

“As this is an active investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted both parents for comment.
