Shots were fired near Tennessee State University in Nashville in an apparent shooting that left several people injured.
The incident reportedly occurred Saturday night at one of the school’s homecoming events.
Authorities and emergency officials quickly responded to the scene.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the bullets were fired near the intersection of Jefferson Street and 27th Street shortly after 5 p.m.

The police confirmed to Fox that several people had been shot. According to witnesses, more than half a dozen shots were heard before they threw themselves to the ground for cover.
Some passersby said they saw the victims being carried on stretchers.
At 5:30, the university alerted students that there was an active shooter off campus. TSU said the suspects were two black men and may have been driving a Ford Fusion.

Rauf Muhammad, 58, was less than 50 meters from the incident when he heard the gunshots.
‘Everyone having fun, playing music or whatever. Then all of a sudden you hear like you’re at war somewhere,” Muhammad said. Tennessee.
After hearing the sudden gunshots, he fell to the ground. Muhammad said authorities arrived at the scene within five minutes.
Jashawna Rucker, a young high school graduate, was also on Jefferson Street where the shooting occurred.
Rucker said: I was very close to that. I thought they were just fireworks.
‘And everyone was just running. And I started running; I almost fell.’
