The nominations for the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards were announced Wednesday morning.
And it looks like it’s going to be a big night for Tom Cruise as Top Gun: Maverick hit the top with six nominations.
The shows Stranger Things and The Last of Us also earned six nods. Four nominations were given to The White Lotus and Wednesday.
In terms of unscripted shows, Jersey Shore Family Vacation, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Vanderpump Rules each received two nominations.
Movie star turned talk show host Drew Barrymore will act as master of ceremonies at the awards show.

This creates an uncomfortable situation as three men were nominated this year and only two women.
The nominees are: Austin Butler for Elvis, Florence Bowe in “Don’t Worry, Baby” KeKe Palmer for “No,” Michael B Jordan for Creed III and Tom Cruise for Top Gun: Maverick.
But the show’s best performers are dominated by females: Aubrey Plaza for the White Lotus, Christina Ricci for the Yellowjackets, Jenna Ortega on Wednesday, Riley Keough, Daisy Jones & The Six Sadie Sink to Stranger Things and Selena Gomez on the murders in the building only.
The hero’s best gestures went to Diego Luna on Andor, Jenna Ortega on Wednesday, Paul Rudd, “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” Pedro Pascal for The Last Of Us Tom Cruise for Top Gun: Maverick.
Starting Wednesday, fans can vote for their favorites across 26 gender-neutral categories by visiting votes.mtv.com through April 17.
The show will air May 7 live from Parker Hanger in Los Angeles.

First-time nominees include Austin Butler, Bad Bunny, Beatrice Granny, Bella Ramsey, Cara Delevingne and Courteney Cox.
The list also includes Doja Cat, Emma D’Arcy, Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Jamie Campbell Bower, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, just to name a few.
This will also be the first time that Riley Keough has been added to the list.
There are also new categories: Best On-Screen Reality Team and Best Kick-Ass Cast.
The press release reads that the evening honors “the biggest and the best in both film and television, across scripted and unscripted, for one huge, unmissable event.”
