Surreal Life viewers called Macy Gray

Macy Gray has left viewers of The Surreal Life in hysterics after brazenly declaring that “cocaine and a couple of drinks” is what she needs to improve her well-being.

The 56-year-old casually dropped the bombshell during Wednesday’s premiere episode of the MTV reality show’s new season after learning that she and her fellow celebrities would be going on a breathing class in the Colombian mountains.

Unenthusiastic about the group trip, which involved “too much conscious breathing,” Macy stated that she wasn’t a fan of “hippie stuff” and would rather relax by taking drugs.

Speaking in her confessional, she said: “Oh God! I just don’t do that hippie nonsense.”

‘I live in Los Angeles, that’s the hippie kingdom, but that’s not how I heal.’

A producer stepped in and asked, “How would you do it?”

Without holding back, Macy, whose real name is Natalie McIntyre, replied: “Like cocaine and a couple of drinks.”

“If you shove those edibles down my throat, I’m fine, baby. If you order me a pizza, I’m fine. I don’t need all that shit, I’m fine.”

It didn’t take long for social media to react to Macy’s eccentric comments, with fans left in shock that she dared to make such an admission on national television.

On X, one said: “She makes me feel weak… I love her whole personality. That kind of transparency deserves the whole world lol.”

Another posted: ‘Macy Gray in Surreal Life is top notch entertainment.’

A third wrote: “Macy Gray in Surreal Life is giving me life. She’s so unintentionally funny, omg I’ve fallen in love with her.”

“I can’t believe Macy Gray said this on national television,” wrote a fourth.

The 56-year-old singer joked that she would rather do cocaine or edibles than breathing exercises.

The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets airs Tuesday nights on MTV at 9pm ET.

The new season follows eight celebrities who live together in a large villa in Colombia.

During their stay, the TV stars are pushed out of their comfort zones and take part in different missions where secrets about each contestant will be revealed.

In addition to Macy, the cast also includes Chet Hanks, Ally Brooke, OT Genasis, Kim Zolciak, Josie Canseco, Johnny Weir and Tyler Posey.

This isn’t the first time Macy has surprised national television audiences.

Earlier this month, Macy left the cast of Australian news show The Project in shock when she began swearing during an impromptu performance.

The singer was being interviewed backstage in Hobart ahead of her first show on her current Australian tour when she dropped the F-word twice.

As the segment was coming to a close, Macy promoted her new song I Am, which includes explicit lyrics.

“Can I use bad words?” she asked host Waleed Aly, before breaking into song.

After The Project host gave her the thumbs up, Macy sang, “I am who I am, fuck you, I don’t give a fuck.”

“I think we all felt that,” a surprised Aly said after the performance, before co-host Sarah Harris burst into laughter.

“I asked permission,” Macy replied.

“Yeah, that was very nice of you to say that, Macy,” Aly replied.
