The somber hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe were stunned by Donald Trump’s political comeback and even admitted that it was clear he seems to know best what Americans really want.

The Associated Press called Wisconsin at 5:34 a.m. ET Wednesday and the race just three minutes later.

MSNBC’s left-leaning Morning Joe aired at 6 a.m. ET and its hosts were stunned by the results.

‘I think we have to recognize that Donald Trump knows our country better than we do. “I think he discovered that anger (and, frankly, fear) was much more powerful than appealing to people’s better angels,” said contributor Claire McCaskill.

‘That anger and that fear were going to work in this election. Whether you’re afraid of immigrants or trans people, he figured it out. And I think we all thought that everyone’s better angels would prevail. Turns out the better angels went on vacation when Donald Trump came down the escalator. And they haven’t returned.

In the final weeks before Election Day, most pollsters said the race was too close to call.

However, the results showed that the vice president not only lost to Donald Trump, but appeared to have underperformed across the board compared to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

“I have to say this is the biggest red wave I’ve seen since Ronald Reagan won 49 states in 1984. It seems like every Republican across the country got better,” host Joe Scarborough said.

“America, first of all, is much further to the right than at any other time in our lifetimes. Even going back to the Reagan years. And Donald Trump won in dominant fashion.

“The scope and scale of this victory is overwhelming… This is a Democratic Party that was just wiped out this morning.”

Trump’s victory marked a notable comeback for a twice-impeached president, who left office in 2021 following allegations that he had incited a riot at the U.S. Capitol building and was convicted earlier this year on multiple charges of business fraud.

Morning Joe’s latest addition, Jonathan Lemire, said: ‘(Trump) was impeached twice. He ruined the management of the pandemic. He faced four criminal cases. Inspired on January 6th. And he won anyway.’

The four-hour morning show has become a bastion of the Democratic establishment, with President Joe Biden regularly tuning in while doing his morning exercises to watch his acolytes promote the party’s talking points.

Scarborough, host of the left-wing show Morning Joe, has long criticized Donald Trump as a threat to democracy in a bitter personal dispute dating back nearly a decade.

The resounding victory ends a tumultuous 2024 campaign, marked by Biden’s dramatic withdrawal from the race in July, as well as two shocking attempts on Trump’s life.

Harris did not concede on election night. Instead, former Rep. Cedric Richmond – his campaign co-chairman – announced shortly after midnight that he had gone to bed and would not address supporters until “tomorrow.”
