MS Dhoni Can’t Help But Applaud CSK Star’s Flying Catch Of David Warner In IPL 2024 Match. Watch | Cricket News

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Matheesha Pathirana took a gravity-defying catch to dismiss Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman David Warner in their IPL 2024 match on Sunday. Warner for the reverse scoop after Mustafizur Rahman threw a slower delivery. Although Warner seemed to have the ball fairly well, the lack of pace on that delivery allowed Pathirana to leap and grab the ball with one hand. Warner had a look of disbelief on his face while CSK icon MS Dhoni praised Pathirana for his efforts.

Dhoni clapped to acknowledge Pathirana and his response went viral on social media.

Coming back to the match, DC had raced to 91/1 in just nine overs, with Warner completing his half-century in 32 balls.

However, he was dismissed in the next over, thanks to Pathirana’s brilliant catch.

This comes after DC skipper Rishabh Pant skipper won the toss and opted to bat against CSK.

While CSK decided to go with the same playing XI, DC made two changes, bringing in Ishant Sharma and Prithvi Shaw in place of Kuldeep Yadav and Ricky Bhui.

“Kuldeep has a problem,” Pant said during the toss.

Defending champions CSK won both matches while DC have suffered defeat in both matches so far in this IPL.
